Yesterday, I took Ez to a park, and we were having lots of fun running around, and I decided to go down the twirly slide with Ez. All was well until his right foot got caught between my leg and the slide, and as we were going down, his ankle twisted and he screamed in pain.
It isn't swollen, bruised or bothering him constantly, but he can't put weight on it without screaming and crying. I'm not entirely sure what to do. Would it be swollen if it were broken? Could it be sprained, or just bruised? It has turned my rambunctious, energetic little one, in to a snuggly, movie watcher.
I think I'm going to call the doctor's office and see what he thinks I should do. I feel so bad. If I had just let him go down by himself, this wouldn't have happened. BAH!
Anyway, I'll keep you posted.
With Love,
Suz

SO not your fault! I hope the lil' guy feels better. Let me know what I can do to help!
I HATE plastic slides for that one reason. When Merick was 18 months old my brother took him down a slide and his leg got caught under my brother and Merick broke his leg. So my little baby was going around with a full legged cast. The hospital said that it is VERY common. Those slides are dangerous! There should be a sign posted saying that if you slide down with a child on your lap you are in for trouble! I hope that Ezra is okay! Call you doctor though...
Amber that is CRAZY! And, scary! Ez seems okay unless he tries to stand on it. It isn't swollen at all, nor is it bruised or sore to the touch. I am pretty sure it's just a sprain, but those hurt for a long time. He is doing better today, but still hurts.
Olivia, You are so sweet. Are we carpooling tomorrow? Text me or Call, or whatever.
Poor Ez and poor you, mama! I hear this happens a lot. I'm sure the doc will give you good advice.
Hugs
Thanks Jo. :)
