Today started out kind of strange. I felt a lingering sense of doom and gloom. I tried to ignore it as much as possible, but it remained. No matter how sweet my husband was, no matter how funny and cute my son was, I remained in a state of perpetual sadness and encroaching anxiety.
I hate that I get this way every once in a while, and I especially hate it when there is no apparent reason behind it. However, I should count my blessings that there ISN'T something behind it, shouldn't I?
Even as I sit here, typing my feelings in a somewhat coherent jumble, my mind is shrouded in a dark cloud. I am sad. I am homesick. I miss my friends, and my family. I feel cut off from everything and everyone. Even though I know I have good friends here, who I'm sure I could call up and say, "Hey, I need to be cheered up," I am missing the friends I haven't seen in years, and the place I used to call home.
Is it still home if your family has left?
I feel so nervous and so anxious to know what is going to happen after this year, that I'm having trouble enjoying the here and now. I don't want to feel unhappy. I don't want to be moody and brooding. I want to be happy, energetic, optimistic and all around joyful. I want to laugh until it hurts and then laugh some more. I want to feel so much joy that it feels like sunshine in my bones.
I just want to feel like I can get through a day without wanting to cry. I'm not entirely sure how to do that. I'm not entirely sure if it's possible.
Not to worry. I am sure this feeling will pass in a day or two. I just wish these days never came around.

Suz

Things that make me happy today...
Today I found some great finds at the Thrift Stores around here. I got three hand knitted and crocheted blankets, I figured I could use them for props in photography. One is green, one is pink, and the other, is an eclectic looking wavy crocheted blanket of red, orange and yellow. I really like it a lot.
I also found some knee high black boots, that are only a size too big, and they are marvelous! I have been looking for some knee high boots for a long time, and now I have some for the rock bottom price of $8.99-Thank you Savers!
I found two handled soup bowls that match the other two I purchased a month ago, along with this funky ceramic pyramid tea light holder. It has stars and moons, and I like it a lot.
I also happened upon an old style cosmetics case, and an old red leatherish suitcase-both of which I figured I could use for photo props. Over all, I am pleased with my little finds.
To top off this day, I went outside about an hour ago to see this magnificent display...

SNORGTEES.COM
Sometimes, when I'm on Facebook, (which to be honest with you, I'm getting a little sick of lately) there are advertisements for Snorgtees.com. Today I clicked on the link, and it took me to their site, which has silly t-shirts. Here are some of my favorites.
I thought those were pretty funny!

FEBRUARY IS ALL ABOUT BOYS!
The girls over at MADE and MADE BY RAE are celebrating boys all month long! If you are a crafty mommy of a boy, you should check them out. They are going to be posting tutorials for all things boys the entire month of February!
I can't wait to see what they post!
Check out "THE BOY" button on my sidebar! I'm stoked about this endeavor!

My day today...
I wish this post would be very interesting, but it isn't going to be. We dropped the husband off at school early this morning, and as I was wandering the aisles at Joann's fabric store with Ez, I realized that today was the first of February, and that our registration expired yesterday.
So, we went to the auto shop, and found out they could fit us in for the smog test in an hour. Ez and I decided to go to the park to play and take some pictures.
We went back to the auto shop and waited for another hour or so, here is a view from inside...

Hope you all had a more entertaining day! At least I got to spend my day with such a handsome, (and very well behaved for such a boring day) little boy!

After the test was over, I got the bad news that it was going to be a longer day than I had hoped for. It didn't pass safety due to a worn front tire. That meant, I had to go all the way across town to Les Schwab to get that sorted out.
Since they quoted us a wait time of approximately 30 minutes, we walked across the parking lot to a little restaurant and ate some lunch, just Ez and me.
We walked back over, were reminded that to prevent such wear that we should routinely rotate our tires every 5,000 miles, and then drove across town again to get the car re-inspected.
This time it passed, and since I didn't want to drive across town in the other direction and stand in line at the Registration office, I payed $8.00 extra to register my car at the auto shop. So, approximately $190 later, I sit here on my quasi-couch and type.
Here are some (I think) cool pictures from today.

Hope you all had a more entertaining day! At least I got to spend my day with such a handsome, (and very well behaved for such a boring day) little boy!
